In September 1984, the cost of a gallon of gas in the state of Texas was $0.93. That sounds like a good deal these days. That same month, one of our experienced loan officers, Kevin Baker, joined Texas Gulf Bank.
Kevin has been with our bank ever since the mid-’80s, providing lending support to countless business customers along the Gulf Coast. In an industry where change is constant, Kevin has a unique story having only worked for one bank his entire career.
Currently, Kevin is our EVP-Commercial Lending Officer, and he is part of our Leadership team serving on the Advisory Board. In his role, Kevin supports our business customers by providing business loans and commercial lending products.

How Kevin Baker can Support Your Commercial Lending Needs
Back in the 1980s, Kevin was drawn to our bank because of our reputation in the Gulf Coast region serving the needs of local business customers. He wanted to be part of a community-based bank that could deliver support directly to regional customers.
Kevin’s longevity in the industry and with our bank can be attributed to his relationship-based approach to commercial lending. He is interested in partnering with customers, not just completing transactions. This way, he can continue to help customers grow throughout the lifespan of their business.
Throughout his career, Kevin has been unwavering in his support of local companies. He focuses on supporting borrowers throughout Brazoria County and Harris County as both counties continue to experience tremendous growth during the current period of rapid expansion in the area.
For example, many of our customers live in cities like Angleton, Freeport, West Columbia, Clute, and Lake Jackson, and they do business in Houston or the surrounding areas in Harris County. Or, they have a weekend home in Brazoria County and do business throughout Southeast Texas during the week.
