Texas Gulf Bank has built a robust lending team to serve the latest needs of the business community along the Texas Gulf Coast. We regularly bring in new leadership to help us expand our reach and best serve local businesses.
One of our newest leaders is Reid Wendell, who joined our bank one year ago in Summer 2021. When Reid officially came onboard, we appointed him as our Southeast Regional President of Commercial Lending, officing out of our Friendswood banking center location.
Prior to joining our bank, Reid gained tremendous experience as Senior Vice President for a competitor bank in the area. He transitioned to our bank because he wanted the freedom and opportunity to work directly with customers on various types of loans.
“I liked the small atmosphere of Texas Gulf Bank and the ability to be creative and dynamic in lending options and structure,” says Reid. “I can serve the needs of customers anywhere in the Greater Houston area. However, my main focus is the Southeast Houston region covering Friendswood and the surrounding communities.”

Outside of banking, Reid has been heavily involved in the Southeast Houston business community. He served on the Pearland Economic Development Board for six years, which included a stint as Chairman. Additionally, Reid is a member of the Pearland Lions Club, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and RISE Mentoring.
Personally, Reid enjoys spending time with his family, which consists of his wife and their two kids. He also enjoys the outdoors and a variety of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and golf.
